This is not what I intended on imaging. I wanted to image NGC 7789 Caroline's Rose in

Cassiopeia. However because of light pollution and because Cassiopeia was low in the

sky I was having trouble seeing NGC 7789. When Cassiopeia gets a little higher in the sky this should not be a problem. In fact if I had not been impatient and kept searching giving my

eyes time to adjust to the dark I probably would have eventually seen NGC 7789. I had been

staring at my computer monitor for an hour. However I was not sure how long I would have a clear sky so I didn't want to waste any time. I decided to view M52. I found it quickly and then

decided to try and get an image of M52 and NGC 7635 in the same field of view. I've tried this a

couple of times with other scopes but I was not successful in getting an acceptable image. The

image I got tonight is pretty sorry but I did mange to capture some of the nebulosity in

the Bubble Nebula. I think with an appropriate filter and longer exposure the picture I want

may be doable. However that is for another night. With all of that said please enjoy my first

image of M52 and NGC 7635 using my new AT72ED Refractor.

Description: I reprocessed this image today trying to bring out more nebulosity in the
Bubble Nebula. I did manage to bring out a tiny bit more nebulosity but
not so much that it is blatantly obvious. However with that said I feel that
there is more nebulosity visible and I like my best image displayed in my
profile so I'm adding this revision. Please enjoy.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
